For those who are in love or with your partner, you may well understand these words. I’m also one of the people who have been abandoned in love, and my life was almost ruined because my long-term relationship had brought on the feeling of boredom from repetitions; it made my partner think of me as something mundane and unexciting to them and, well, cheated on me. 

Some may think that long-term relationships signify stability and longevity, and there’s no need for excitement or additional sweet moments anymore, and that may be true in their cases. In fact, I myself have often seen long-term relationships that continue to be filled up with excitement—it’s just I’m not that lucky. 

My story goes like this: I have been together with my husband for about a decade. We became much like friends. And I must admit to my negligence on certain matters due to exhaustion and stress from work, but who would think that that would become the reason for his cheating. As a woman, my idea was our children are the strong ties that will keep both of us together forever, but apparently I was the lone clinger of that idea. I started noticing his strange behaviors and it provoked my curiosity that he may have some secrets. I would never have thought for it to turn out to be a love affair. 

Ultimately, I must say thank you to my team of private investigators who provided me with the answers. I let them work the matters and found out from empirical evidence that my husband was sleeping with another woman. I could only cry before I finally got him to spell out what went wrong; it’s because of boredom, monotony, and overall lack of care and attention in our relationship. As a wife hearing that, I was too stunned to speak and didn’t know what to do next. I ended up choosing the vile choice of revenge—by cheating back on him. Needless to say, our family was miserably destroyed. 

In this new chapter of life, I now realize that others not loving you anymore doesn’t mean it’s the sign for you to stop loving yourself. Here we are, a mother and children and we are already a complete family in our own right; I become both parents for my kids.
